Che Ernesto Guevara was a Cuban revolutionary and
political leader originally from Argentina. He was killed
whilst directing an innefective guerilla movement in
Bolivia by government troops in 1967.

In 1966 England beat West Germany 4-2
in the final of the World Cup to become World champions.
Geoff Hurst scored a hattrick with the third and last goal of the game
being echoed with the famous words of the commentator Kenneth Wolstenholme
"Theres people on the pitch,they think its all over....it is now"

In 1965 the Vietnam War escalated when the U.S
sent 100,000 troops to Vietnam in support of the South Vietnamese
against the communist North.

In 1964 Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was sentenced
to life imprisonment for his part in the ANC's
guerilla tactics in sabotage on the white led government
of South Africa.

The Civil Rights Act signed in 1964 was to eliminate
the persuasive discrimination against racial minorities
which had long existed in American society.

In 1964 Cassius Clay defeated Sonny Liston
to become world heavyweight champion of the world.
After the fight he declared himself to be a member of
the Nation of Islam and now wanted to be known as
Muhammad Ali.
In 1963 Martin Luther King led a quarter of a million people
to Washington D.C in what is known as the Million Man March
in a protest about civil rights.
